Challenge 26 Sports Fundraiser

By 17 May 2024May 22nd, 2024No Comments

Now in its eight year, the Griffin Schools Trustā€™s Challenge 26 is an exciting and inclusive fundraising initiative inspired by the highly charitable London Marathon.

This event harnesses the spirit of the marathon’s 26.2 miles by encouraging member schools to engage in various sporting challenges centred around the number 26.

The aim is to raise funds for a designated good cause, fostering community spirit and promoting physical activity among students.

This year, we’re proud to announce Cancer Research UK as our chosen charity.

Nearly 1 in 2 people (born in the UK in 1961) will be diagnosed with some form of cancer during their lifetime. With statistics like that it is not surprising that we probably all know one or more people who have been affected by cancer.

With a steadfast commitment to ground-breaking research and unwavering support for those affected by cancer, Cancer Research UK stands at the forefront of the battle against this disease, driving progress toward a world without cancer.

At Kingfisher today we held a 26-minute family fun run, encouraging all to dress as their favourite sports star.

In total we raised Ā£333.30! Congratulations to all who took part.

Challenge 26 offers a dynamic and engaging way for GST schools to collectively raise funds for a good cause while promoting physical fitness and community engagement. By connecting the event to the iconic London Marathon, we hope to inspire students and the wider community to come together, celebrate their sportingĀ  achievements, and make a positive impact.
